Spaz Saturday: Chronicle IX
Download: Soco Burns – Lyrikal Murdarah
After murdering nine straight weeks of witty, lyrical freestyles, Soco Burns drops the last chapter of the Spaz Saturday Chronicles with the Lyrikal Murdarah. As opposed to a typical 24, 32, or even 48 bar freestyle, Soco gives three spazed out 16 bar verses in addition to a catchy hook.
Not a bad decision to wrap up the arsenal of freestyles with a full track expressing his lyrical talent and creativity in composing thought provoking music. Considering the title and message behind the track, not only does he kill off the collection of preceding freestyles, but through his lyrics, also lets the listeners know that he is here, and ready, to murder any beat presented to him. Bar-for-bar!
Soco Burns shared with Cali Bred that the reason he chose to wrap up the Spaz Saturday Chronicles after the ninth week is primarily because he is ready to go in on his upcoming mixtape and EP. In addition to working on the mixtape and EP, we know Soco is still working with the Black Card Boys and on a few other specialty projects. In the mean time, Cali Bred will continue to host the completed edition of the Spaz Saturday Chronicles and will be in tune with the latest updates from Soco Burns and all new West Coast Hip-Hop talent.
Now you know the routine, if interested in getting in touch with Soco for booking, features, or simply just want to let him know you’re feeling the music, you can reach him on Twitter, MySpace, or Email.

Apologies apologies, for not dropping Spaz Saturday on Saturday. Things have been pretty hectic over at Cali Bred. As we like to say around here, “It’s Crunch Time,” and Soco Burns has been experiencing the same himself. Back again however with the newest addition to the Spaz Saturday Chronicles with the Week 8 freestyle, Soco Burns presents Know the Deal Freestyle.
It seems that this West Coast Rapper chooses the titles of these freestyles intricately. After listening to this track a few times, the message behind the lyrics combined with a hard, beat knocker, definitely appear to be letting listeners ‘know the deal’ with Soco.
As far as an update on some Soco Burns news, he has informed Cali Bred that he has been in the studio with other West Coast rising stars including Ya Boy, Dubb, and Slap. This group actually just recently recorded a new song led by Dubb titled Look At Ya. The track can be found here and listened to at the bottom of this post. From what Soco has informed us, this group of Black Card Boys has a lot in store for West Coast Hip-Hop fans. Soco mentioned that Ya Boy has been itching to do a video for the new single which is planned to be filmed by our neighbor-Hoodz Finezt, Paper Filmz.
As usual, if you would like to get in touch with Soco for booking or a casual conversation, you can reach him on Twitter, MySpace, or through Email.
Spaz Saturday: Chronicle VII
Download: Soco Burns – Hard Freestyle
Soco Burns with some more week-to-week fire, dropping the seventh Spaz Saturday Freestyle. This week’s freestyle is titled “Hard Freestyle,” and after hearing it, definitely see why. Spitting with a slightly harder, angrier, tone, Soco expresses his frustrations through song yet again.
As far as some recent news, Soco Burns has informed Cali Bred that there is a new project that he will be working on. The project within itself is still Mr. Burns. However, linking up with a new producer, Mr. Burns will now be Soco’s official EP. The EP will consist of all original beats, don’t know who the producer is as of now, but as the new news floats in, we’ll definitely leak as we please.
In the mean time, Soco will be wrapping up the Spaz Saturday Chronicles most likely by the top of the year. So stay in tune for the latest and greatest and make sure to check back with us every Spaz Saturday.

Spaz Saturday: Chronicle VI
Download: Soco Burns – I’m Here Freestyle
Back at it again, Soco Burns drops the next freestyle to his arsenal of Spaz Saturday freestyles. This one is title “I’m Here Freestyle.” Obviously the message behind this freestyle is let the masses know that he is here, and not going anywhere.
As far as some recent news in the Spaz Saturday Chronicles, we have been informed by Soco that the agreement with Paper Films has unfortunately come to an end. Can’t really go into much detail as of why, but will confirm that it was not the result of a hostile situation. Soco Burns will continue to drop the weekly freestyles in addition to working on his mixtape, “Mr. Burns.”

Download: Soco Burns – Smell Fame Freestyle
After taking an unfortunate brief hiatus, and some unfortunate complications with Paper Films, Soco Burns brings you Week 5 of the Spaz Saturday collection. Soco titled this freestyle Smell Fame Freestyle, which is rather suiting for an up-and-coming artist surrounded by a sea of other rappers. Soco addresses the industry, his fans, and his own ambitions throughout the freestyle. After speaking with him, he explained that he wanted to takeout his recent frustrations of his everyday struggles with the Smell Fame Freestyle.
Paper Films and Soco Burns apologize for not having the video from last Spaz Saturday and would like you to know they are currently working on wrapping things up already for Weeks 5 and 6. Be looking forward to next week’s Spaz Saturday freestyle along with the video.
As usual, if interested in booking Soco Burns, or even if you simply just want to say “What’s up,” he can be reached on MySpace, Twitter, or by Email.

Download: Soco Burns – Cannon Freestyle
As you noticed, Spaz Saturday missed out on week three. Soco Burns has been pretty busy the last couple of weeks between balancing life outside of music (family and school) and working on his next mixtape. Soco expressed to me that with all the noise leaking in his headphones, it took a lot for him to complete both freestyles and video. Despite the pressures of life, Cali Bred and Soco Burns present week three freestyle, “Dat Shit,” and week four freestyle, “Cannon Freestyle.”
The second video in the Spaz Saturday Chronicles has been recorded and is currently in productions with Paper Films. Cali Bred and Soco Burns will be launching the video as soon as it comes back from editing. In the mean time feel free to download the latest Spaz Saturday freestyles.
